Forum for Neonatal Therapists – 3 Ways to Get Value

NANT Forum

Sidelying feeding, neonatal assessments, students in the NICU, feeding on high flow – you name the subject, I bet there is a post about it in the NANT member-only forum called the Professional Support Network.

When I began working in the NICU I knew only a handful of therapists I could trust. I didn’t have access to anyone else. Sound familiar?

When I began to consult in NICUs around the US, that circle widened. As a result I gathered a deeper understanding of how similar and how diverse practice can be in different NICUs whether they’re down the street or thousands of miles away. I met competent and passionate neonatal therapists wherever I went and we all grew from those relationships.

Yet we still didn’t have a way to communicate consistently or weigh in on important topics. Providing a forum for neonatal therapists was a foundational benefit I wanted to provide when founding NANT.

Now I’m thrilled whenever I sign into the forum. The number of questions and replies is growing. 14 pages of questions, over 400 replies from your peers and thousands of views- you are thoughtfully, respectfully and frequently helping each other.

3 ways to get value out of the forum:

1) Be part of the solution:

You learn a lot by reading the other posts. You learn even more by being engaged and posting a question from time to time. You learn the most when you teach. When you answer a question or provide resources, you’re putting yourself out there. It means you’re growing AS you help someone else grow. You are doing your part to keep the wheel turning. You’re part of the solution.

2) Give and receive support

Remember that everyone could use a little emotional support as well. So even if you reply that you’re in the same boat and can’t wait to learn with them – that’s helpful. No one likes to feel isolated. Be that voice of camaraderie and support.

Support comes in many forms – providing articles, resources AND being generous to one another. Make someone’s day.

3) Become a member

To get value from the forum you must first have access to it!

There are thousands of people who read the NANT Newsletter and more than 500 of you are members. Some people mistakenly think they’re a member because they receive the newsletter. Only those who have actually JOINED NANT have access to this support network. It’s just one of the many benefits of being a NANT member.

For most of our professional lives there was no such thing. No support, no answers, no camaraderie.

That isolation is over.

Engage. Be supported. Join the conversation.

We can’t wait to hear from you!
