Whether you know it or not, you are mentoring someone right now. You may think you’re just living your life or doing your work, but the way you do it influences and teaches others. Someone is choosing their next steps based on what they observe—your actions and choices, how you treat others, how you show up in the world, and even what happens in your own kitchen. You matter.
Finding mentors of your own is a valuable and life-sustaining adventure. Getting to spend time with them in person — priceless. What kind of mentor are you on the lookout for? Where do you need to grow, and who demonstrates ways to move in that direction?
I once described them this way:

NANT 16 will be chock-full of mentors —speakers, Ignite Program Mentors, researchers, poster presenters, and colleagues from multiple professions.
Meet them. Be curious. Ask questions. Reach out. Whatever side of the mentoring relationship we’re on, these meaningful connections transform our careers and personal lives.
Moments matter. And we’re not alone in any of them.
