Where in the world are Certified Neonatal Therapists?

Did you know that there are now 424 certified neonatal therapists in the world? This comprises 219 occupational therapists, 120 physical therapists and 85 speech and language pathologists. Since neonatal therapy certification launched in November 2016, so many neonatal therapists have made this commitment to excellence in the care they provide for infants and families.

You may not be aware, but the NTNCB also welcomes international applicants who work in neonatal settings outside of the United States. International CNTs are currently based in Australia, Canada, India, Qatar, South Africa and the United Kingdom. Click here to learn more about things to consider as an international applicant. CNT numbers are also growing within the United States. Certified neonatal therapists are now based in 46 of the states and territories.

And for those of you considering applying to become a Certified Neonatal Therapist, applications are currently open, and the deadline has been extended until June 15th, 2020. For information, visit www.ntncb.com. After June 15th applications will not re-open unit September 2020, so don’t miss this opportunity! New applicants who start the process of application will also receive a flash drive containing more than 50 full text key reference papers to help you prepare for the Neonatal Therapy National Certification examination. However, this is only while supplies last, so make sure you apply early to ensure you have access to this wonderful resource…once they are gone, we will not be offering this incentive again!

Thank you to all CNTs who have already made the commitment to excellence!  We hope that other PTs, OTs and SLPs providing neonatal therapy services will become certified, so they can reap the benefits of CNT status, and more importantly, so the infants and families they serve can!
