My Upcoming Book: Tiny Humans, Big Lessons

By Sue Ludwig

Neonatal therapy friends and colleagues – I want you to be the first to know about a project I’ve been working on since, well, forever. I want you to know about it because, in essence, you’re part of it. So are the babies and families with whom you work.

I wrote a book titled Tiny Humans, Big Lessons: How the NICU Taught Me to Live with Energy, Intention, and Purpose. And in a thousand ways, I hope you see yourselves in it.

It’s a non-fiction book that is both personal and instructive. As I say in the book’s introduction, I realized I was discounting my own life, my own cues, my own impact. I realized I was cheating myself out of living my most vibrant life by never considering the energy or the level of awareness I was bringing to the moments that made up my days. I was not laying down pathways for my own development even while working every day to optimize development for babies in the NICU.

This book is about giving you the insights, tools, and practices to stop feeling like you’re just going through the motions in your life, and to start deliberately filling each moment as you choose, using lessons learned primarily from our tiny, incredible patients and their families.
