Course Title: What’s Missing in your Toolbox?  

Course Description:  As therapists, we are creating change in NICUs by supporting babies, families, and staff during infant feeding experiences.  To achieve positive outcomes, you will require a variety of tools.  Do you have all that is necessary or is something missing?  Dr. Brown’s Medical will discuss essential components of a NICU feeding program, including researched education and a toolbox with all the right tools.  Benefits of each component will be presented including – positive outcomes for infants; cost savings analysis for your hospital; reliability for parents/caregivers; and consistent, reliable feeding tools.  Enjoy a range of solutions from experts in the field. 

Speaker Bio: Lisa Kleinz, MA, SLP/L, CNT, is currently the Director of Education & Marketing for Dr. Brown’s Medical   In her role, she is responsible for maintaining, promoting, and developing the education programming and marketing strategies related to the vision of Dr. Brown’s Medical™. Her goal is to explore, create, and deliver valuable resources to healthcare professionals, allowing them to provide evidence-based, positive feeding experiences to infants.   Prior to joining Dr. Brown’s Medical in 2016, she worked as a Speech Pathologist and Developmental Care Specialist for over 25 years in Level 3 and 4 NICUs in the Chicago area.   Her certifications include Newborn Individualized Developmental Care Assessment Program (NIDCAP), Developmental Care Designation (NANN), Infant Massage Instructor.  She is also a Certified Neonatal Therapist and a member of the National Association of Neonatal Therapists. In addition, Lisa was one of the founding members of the Neonatal Therapy National Certification Board and helped to create a certification for neonatal therapists.  

Lisa received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and her Master’s degree from Indiana University. She has presented at several conferences and webinars and teaches a 2-day course for Education Resources on Developmental Care in the NICU.
