Course Description
Encouraging and facilitating parent bonding in the NICU is key to building a healthy ecosystem that empowers parents to become confident caregivers. Kelli Kelley, Founder and CEO of Hand to Hold takes us on an emotionally moving and practical account of her family’s NICU experience. She provides both professionals and parents with tangible ways to foster parent bonding through key milestones during the NICU journey.
Speaker Bio: Kelli D. Kelley is the Founder and CEO of Hand to Hold, a national non-profit organization dedicated to providing education and support for Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and bereaved families.
A NICU graduate parent who suffered from psychosocial issues for years after her children’s early births, she now invests her time and talents to raise awareness about the high incidence of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder among these parents and the long-term implications for the baby and family.
Kelli serves as Vice President of board of directors of the National Coalition for Infant Health. She sits on the steering committee of the National Perinatal Association’s RSV Working Group and the leadership team of the NICU Parent Network of which she is a founding member.

She is the 2010 recipient of the Austin Under 40 Award for Medical and Health Care, and an ENERGIZER Keep Going Hall of Fame Semifinalist.
Kelli received a bachelor of journalism degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
