Alison Epps, Parent Ambassador, NICU Helping Hands Alison Epps is a parent ambassador and an official blogger of the PreemieBabies101 Hand to Hold parent blog. Hand to Hold is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that carefully matches seasoned parents of preemies with parents in need of support. These peer-to-peer relationships inspire hope and offer support from someone who is uniquely familiar with the experience of preterm birth, life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a child born with special health care needs, loss of pregnancy and/or infant loss.
Alison has one child who was delivered by emergency C-section at 22 weeks 6 days gestation. He weighed 15oz. and was 10 ½ inches long. He endured a 160-day NICU stay with 4 surgeries and multiple complications. He is now an active 5-year-old.
