Course Description
This course will provide education and resources for therapists in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) based on evidence and expert opinion for rare diagnoses, including Pierre Robin Sequence (PRS), Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), neuromuscular conditions, and Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

Lecture, videos, case studies, and handouts. Learning assessment and course evaluation follow the course.
Course Completion Requirements
The learner must view the entire webinar, complete the course evaluation, and complete the post-webinar learning assessment with at least an 80% to receive education credit. Login and logout times are recorded and documented. Following course completion, learners receive a CE certificate and a zip file containing the necessary information to submit for education credit to their individual state, where required. The zip file will include a course bibliography. Physical therapists are responsible for knowing and adhering to their state’s CE deadlines, rules, and regulations.Â
Speaker Bios
Lee Ann Sansuchat, PT, DPT, is a board certified pediatric physical therapist who currently works in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit providing developmental therapy services for premature and medically fragile infants with a variety of diagnoses. She graduated with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, OH and completed her outpatient pediatric physical therapy residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2020 and completed her neonatology physical therapy fellowship at Nationwide Children’s in 2021. In the NICU, Lee Ann has a particular interest in research, quality improvement and supporting medically complex infants throughout stages of healing and development.
Diana Hinton, OTR/L, CLC,​ started at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 1993 after graduating from The Ohio State University School of Allied Medicine with her degree in occupational therapy.  She has worked in the NICU for 32 years and throughout her time at NCH, she has worked in a variety of other settings.  She is a certified lactation consultant and continues to practice in the NICU with special interests in complex feeding including craniofacial diagnoses.
Maria D’Amore, PT, is a Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Physical Therapy and Director of the Neonatal Physical Therapy Fellowship Program at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Maria received her degree at The Ohio State University, and during her 30 years of practice, she has been employed by Nationwide Children’s Hospital with pediatric experience in a variety of settings, the last 15 years in Neonatal practice. Maria has served as Clinical Faculty in the Neonatal Physical Therapy Fellowship Program and is an adjunct Clinical Faculty member at West Virginia University. Maria lives with her husband in Delaware and has three adult children and one granddaughter.
Courtney Mackert, OTR/L, MOT, CNT, CLC started at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in 2005 and worked on the Inpatient Rehabilitation unit. In 2010, Courtney joined the NICU OT/PT team. She continues to expand her knowledge with this population and completed her NIDCAP training in 2019. Courtney became a Certified Neonatal Therapist (CNT) in 2020. Courtney is a member of the small baby team and has a passion for helping support babies and their families as they start life.Â
